Does anyone read these comments? I am an Alaska Guardsman and I know plenty of unsavory information about our illustrous Generals Campbell and Kacass. I believe that the role of the Alaska National Guard should be beyone politics. However, that isn’t the case and the Generals, their cronies, and the Governor and Lt. Governor are to put it bluntly corrupt, So what’s the point of trying to get at the truth? Truth is the casualty and the ALaska National Guard takes a big hig because of these self serving politicians. However, does anyone read these comments and do you care or have you given up hope?

I never thought that I would admit this, but Guardsmen, I give up. There is no justice in the Alaska Guard and Sarah Palin isn’t going to help. I know some great soldiers getting out because of the unethical leadership and NO one cares. The Lt. Governor’s office tells you to contact the military commissioner and that happens to be General Campbell. Now are we stupid or what. This is what the mother of a Guardsman told me. I feel defeated and I plan on getting out asap. Those who fight the battles get “screwed.” Kacus never set foot on a battlefield yet he is a General and a chicken shit one at that.

I doubt if Monegan would want to do this, but neither did former Governor Jay Hammond. The people pushed him, and he nonchalantly went with it. He didn’t take himself seriously and was one of the best Governors Alaska has ever had. He was Mayor of Naknek, and unlike Palin was highly intellectual with principles.

I doubt if anything will happen with recalls on Palin. Alaskans should start by finding a good replacement Governor for the next election. Justice served would be to start a campaign fund for Walt Monegan. We would get our say, and vindicate Monegan’s name at the same time. Monegan has spent his lifetime as a public servant in Alaska. Palin was a Wasilla darling with political ambitions, and did nothing in her life to help raise Alaskan communities. Monegan would win by a landslide!

Looks like we’re going to need the Alaska Hockey Moms for Obama to track all the stuff S.Palin does, going forward, because it seems clear to me that the far, far right WANTS her to run in 2012. She will spend some of her time learning some basic civics and geography, and generally trying to appear well-informed. So we must be READY!

If it hadn’t been for Katie Couric (and you) I’m not sure we would have found out what Gov. Palin is really like.

Right now I’m sick that the Personnel Board came out with their results and cleared Palin. Yuk!

Then I read this and it became clear. The attorney hired by the Personnel Board, Timothy Petumenos, works for a law firm named Birch Horton Bittner & Cherot.

Bittner, as in Teds’ brother in law Bittner.

BHBC as in the same law firm that represented the City of Wasilla in the real estate fiasco that became the Wasilla Sports Complex..

I didn’t research this statement, but it would sure explain it!!!

I totally agree that Sarah Palin was the worst choice for Vice Presidern EVER in the history of this country. I pray every day that they will be elected because the other possibility would be the end of America as we know it. i am 5 years from retirement and I mean to tell you that if McCain is elected, I will be planning to retire somewhere outside of America. I have endured 8 years of an idiot running this country! I would get so angry when he came on television that I would stand and scream and rant and rave at the set. My cats were scared to death of me! I have so much rage built up inside me for what Bush has done to this country, to our armed forces, to our economy, to our freedoms, and to our Constitution! I KNOW he stole the election from Gore and I believe that were it not for the Swift Boat scandal, Kerry would have beat him. I am so concerned that something will happen again. I don’t know how they have done it, but they could do it again. I hope this is not a close election. There is no reason it should be close. Anyone in their right mind would chose OBama…..are there that many crazies in America???? Another reason for me to leave!

As I am sure it will come as no surprise to many who know me, I will be voting for Barack Obama this year. I am doing so as a born-again Christian who believes in the bible as the inerrant word of God. I am doing so because I feel morally compelled to do so. It is my Christianity that compels me to vote for Obama. Allow me to explain.

The organized church has long held the notion and belief that we should be voting for the candidate that most closely represents our values or beliefs. This has been a sham. You must understand that while we believe what we believe in the church, the world is entirely different. The world of politics is inherently corrupt. There is simply no escaping it. The desire for power and money take precedent over values and beliefs. It is a fairy tale to assume that we will elect a Christian who will not be inherently corrupt. In 2000 we elected someone who claimed the mantle of Christianity and eight years later we see the destruction left from the presidency of George W. Bush. If anything, we should learn that merely saying you are for Christ does not mean anything. The bible warns us:

“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and in your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?’ Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!’ – Matthew 7:21-23

The bible implores us to look at the fruit, not the words. The country has been impoverished, the educational system and infrastructure are in ruins, there are over 200,000 people dead in wars that have been proven to be based upon pre-meditated lies, our civil liberties have been eroded and torture is now the official policy of this land. I have heard the cries of “it can’t all be his fault.” Yes it can and yes it is. It is time we stopped enabling and avoiding the truth.

Thankfully, Bush cannot run again but we need to take lessons from his presidency. I have heard the cries of the pro-life and anti-gay marriage platform. It is time to be honest about them though. The GOP has no intention of ever overturning Roe versus Wade and even if they did, that would not outlaw abortion. It would only return the issue to the states. They cannot afford to overturn it because it is their greatest weapon every four years. If there was no abortion issue, the only thing they would have left to run on is endless war and tax breaks for the rich – not exactly a winning combination. So, I know it is unsettling for Christians but the reality is what it is. On gay marriage, both candidates have the same position.

More importantly though is you have to understand that Christians are being used. Christians are being co-opted. The people that send you the pro-life emails and anti-Obama emails are the same folks. They are not Christian and do not care about the cause of Christ. They only care about you voting for their person.

I am voting for Obama because I know when someone tries so hard to lie about someone, they must not have any substantive reason for me to vote for them. The McCain campaign and its operatives have spent 90% of their efforts trying to make me afraid of Barack Obama. The Obama lies that have been spread have been varied and insidious. The bible speaks directly against this. God hates lying lips. I know that Obama is not a secret Muslim, refuses to wear a flag pin, wont say the pledge, wants to take God off of the currency, knew someone 10 years ago who was a domestic terrorist 40 years ago, or supports infanticide and partial birth abortions. These are lies. I will not be used by people who wrap Christ around lies while they try to convince me to vote my Christian conscience.

I do not pretend that either candidate represents true Christian values. I have heard some of the theology of Obama and it is wrong. But I also know that McCain is an admitted adulterer, liar and thief (Keating Five). The bottom line is that I have not heard John McCain tell me one good reason, Christian or otherwise, why I should vote for him. The economic policies of the last eight years have been a disaster and have seen the middle class squeezed into the working poor. McCain unashamedly admits to wanting to continue the same failed policies. The number one topic in the bible is taking care of the least in society but we have lost our way. With so many living in poverty and 50 million without healthcare, how can we say that we are a nation of Christian values? The foreign policy of arrogance and unprovoked war over the past eight years has decimated our military and damaged our credibility in the world. McCain could be even worse. He has mocked about dropping a nuclear bomb on Iran. The 200,000 people dead in the Middle East may not mean anything to some folks, but they mattered to God. I am tired of the church turning the Prince of Peace into a war monger. The truth is there is not one pro-war verse in the New Testament; not one.

I am also voting for Obama because John McCain carelessly put political expediency first, not his country when he selected the most unqualified vice presidential candidate in the history of this country. The fact that she is a Christian is absolutely irrelevant. Once again, what is the fruit? She was on video asking a congregation to pray for the 30 billion dollar pipeline deal in Alaska, referring to it as “God’s will.” She has been exposed now as having abused her power to try and ruin the career of someone who had the temerity to divorce her sister. Her answers on everything from the simple to the difficult display her utter emptiness. I also do not need the “shucks” and winks. We have had eight years of a president who couldn’t put a coherent sentence together with two hands and a thesaurus. I do not want another. The days of wanting to have a beer with our president are graciously over. Can you honestly see Sarah Palin negotiating nuclear proliferation treaties? ‘Aww shucks Putin, I can see you from my kitchen window.” Wink wink. No thanks. And enough with the ridiculous notion that she has more experience than Obama. Barack was the first black President of the Harvard Law Review. He spent over a decade as a constitutional law professor (you remember the constitution don’t you?). He then spent over another decade as a State Senator where he represented 750,000 people, which is 100,000 more than Sarah represents as Governor. So save the canned GOP talking points please. She is horribly unqualified and dangerous to this country, period.

So as a Christian I cannot morally vote for someone who will continue the status quo. Someone who will continue to punish the poor for the sake of the rich. My bible tells me I cannot support that. I cannot vote for someone who cares so little for life that he can casually joke and sing a song about nuking another country just because they look different than us. My bible tells me I cannot support that. I just can’t.

I can hear the cries already from the far right. They have been sold the wedge issues for so long now that everything always comes down to abortion and gay marriage. It is as if there is nothing else going on in the world that matters to God. Genocide and famine? Nope, we got to stop abortion and gay marriage. Jesus Christ charged us with bringing the Gospel to a lost world. That was the Great Commission. That does not mean we are to bring our morality to the world but the love of Jesus Christ. Remember what we believe is at stake. We believe in heaven and hell. Eternal life with God and eternal separation from God. I ended a recent debate with a well intended Christian who felt morally compelled to vote McCain this way. Even if you were able to succeed in your plans to stop all abortions in the world and stop all gays from marrying; you have accomplished nothing. Based upon what we believe, they all would still be going to hell because of their separation from God. The Great Commission replaced by what man feels is more of a moral imperative. We need to stop trying to bring the morality of Christianity to people and get back to the red letters in the bible. Get back to bringing the world the love of Jesus Christ.

That video clip was amazing! The young woman on the left appears to be more highly qualified to be VP than Palin! She seemed very intelligent and was able to articulate her opinions on a level that Palin has not yet met. Palin could learn something from her!

Please get this video out to the major news networks! I am a proud Alaskan who did NOT vote for pathetic Palin. I’ve always considered her to have risen to her politcal positions by her looks alone. Think about it. . .old horny men are just drooling over her and fat stupid women wish they were her. What is happening to our wonderful country, the election is tearing us apart. What ever happened to the Officer and the Gentleman that I thought McCain once was, I don’t see that any more. How are we going to heal when all is said and done, I sure would like to see a big “ I’m sorry” from McCain, sorry for all the hate he has spread when so many Americans are loosing jobs, homes, savings, but none of this will ever affect his life, so maybe he is not so sorry. She, too is voting Dems. It’s not about party or anything against Republican people. But, while the Rep people were comfortable, the Rep Platform was taken over by some self-serving people who don’t have the interests of the American people on their “agend”, and don’t have a good grip on world affairs. I want to thank you for this website! This page is really good! It’s very informative of what people need to know before they go and vote. I don’t know how anyone can vote for McCain/Palin after running the kind of absurd, negative, “good old boys” campaign that they have been running. I hope that Americans take note and finally puts an end to type of campaign that McCain and Palin ran with all the hate and fear and smear! They’re campaign was a real TURNOFF to me and my friends. In fact, we had been die-hard republicans and the McCain/Palin campaign cinched our votes for Obama. The more we learned about Obama, what he stands for, his style in a crisis, his knowledge of the issues and his plans, we decided to vote for him. This was not a decision that we took lightly, but a competent decision made on the issues and their plans for dealing with them. Quite frankly, we didn’t hear any substance coming from McCain and Palin; just on and on and on about Ayers and Obama being a terrorists. Do they think Americans are stupid? My friends and I talked about how insulted we were by McCain and Palin. We are in a new century and new millenium let’s leave the dirty politics behind in the last century and last millenium once and for all. I hope from here on out that candidates running for the highest office in the country will take selecting a running mate with more seriousness than what McCain did to select Palin for his running mate. It’s obvious that all he wants is to be president; he doesn’t care anything about the US or the people. Sorry, Theresa in TN, but you are incorrect about the Troopergate Report. I agree with Alaska Hockey Moms. I am an Alaskan, and Alaskans continue to follow this story with great interest. If you will go to the Anchorage Daily News, adn.com and search “Branchflower Report”; you will be able to read the complete report. On page eight of the report, “Finding One,” it says: “Finding Number One: For the reasons explained in section IV of this report, I find that Governor Sarah Palin abused her power by violating Alaska Statute 39.52.110(a) of the Alaska Executive Branch Ethics Act.” I don’t know how you interpret that, but I interpret it as Alaska Hockey Moms interpreted it. Just because Sarah Palin parrots on TV that she has been vindicated, doesn’t necessarily mean she is telling the Lower 48 Americans the truth – Palin is in total denial; she is also in more hot water up here than Troopergate. In Alaska she has the ongoing personnel board investigation; then we will move into: Travelgate, the perdiemgate; the gaslinegate. Palin might fear God, but I fear Palin possibly being the president if something should happen to McCain. If you want to know more of what Palin is about, you might want to go online and read the Anchorage Daily News more often; she’s in the news every day up here. You will find good articles, and you will also find unfavorable articles. No one knows Palin better than Alaskans. Educate yourself before you go to the polls. Be a responsible voter.

Loved your history of the word “maverick”…I’m originally born and raised a “Texan” and never heard this history lesson before so I actually read every word. I totally believe that McCain and Palin are not quite “in touch” and as my father always said “learn one thing…if nothing else, learn this….THINK before you speak, and if you’re not sure about what your talking about then don’t speak!”

When I heard Palin talk about them being a couple “mavericks”, my first thought was loose cannons. Maybe, I wasn’t too far off course but they sure are!

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this. You’ve confirmed my belief that the majority of good folks in Alaska don’t condone the actions of Mrs. Palin, and are as frustrated as the rest of us watching from the sidelines.

I’m almost sorry to say that you all will have to continue to deal with her as governor after November 4th, but that’s a heck of alot better than the rest of us dealing with her as VP I know a bit about that, being a Democrat in Texas. During W’s first run for president, I did all I could to warn folks about his poor job as our governor, not wanting to see him be a dimwit for the entire nation!

Keep up the good fight, don’t let Palin get away with one darn thing. She does NOT speak for all Alaskans, and I wanted you to know that there are millions of people in the US that feel your pain.

Wow- I watched the religious connections video, and was surprised it’s not getting more play on HuffPo etc.. It’s pretty shocking material. Running on the tagline, the first Christian mayor? Are you kidding me? It makes you realize that Palin isn’t just spouting empty talking points. She’s actually part of a fundamentalist religious movement that clearly wants the government to serve its interests-not the people’s interests. Scary stuff. I am a male from Bayonne, NJ, about as far as can be on the spectrum from an Alaskan hockey mom. But reading your blogs, I have to say how encouraged I am.
I have been unnerved and quite outraged at the comments made by Mrs. Palin, which could only result in the incitement of a crowd, the hatred and virulence against Barack Obama and even directed against a black cameraman at one of the events. It borders on the surreal. Truly frightening.
The fact that one blogger, Polly, described Mr. Obama as a person “whose Christian faith is reflected in his leadership and humility”, is truly inspiring. I believe that Sen. Obama is truly concerned about the welfare of the people of the country who are without healthcare, jobs, and, most important, hope. I am hopeful that he can restore some of the greatness of America which has been so badly eroded over the past eight years or so. Actions do speak louder than words.
Not to get into the state politics of Alaska, I have no intention of angering anyone. But I have much difficulty with the fact that Mrs. Palin would attempt to so strongly criticize Obama for his “pallin’ around with terrorists”, while her husband has had a long, if tenuous, relationship, with the AIP. I don’t pretend to know the extent of support for this group among the citizens of Alaska. But such a group, while expressing their belief they are working for the good of people in Alaska, can be viewed in many quarters in the lower 48 as advocating treason against the United States by their talk of secession.
After all of John McCain’s talk against ‘those who take our money overseas and don’t all like us’, particularly as he refers to Iran, Mr. McCain picks a VP running mate who’s husband has had past involvement with a group that would have Alaska seceed from the US and sell oil to the lower 48.
Ms. Palin is not, in my estimation, at all qualified for the duties of the VP of the US, and her expression of intent to further strengthen the office of the VP is also very disconcerting.
The economic crisis has been hurting many all over our nation, and long before the crisis was noticed by the news media because it began affecting Wall Street. The people of our nation are systematically losing their homes, jobs, savings, and retirement. And they are losing hope. That is why we need a fundamental change of direction in Alaska, and throughout America. Barack can begin this long process…

Thanks also for the analogy to a carnival barker even if it demeans the useful not to mention far more innocent position. Oddly enough, my mental thesis was wrapped around the metaphor of county fair … hmmm! as a positive bridging of differences to focus on shared values. At any rate, I’m trying to deal with my outrage in a productive manner. Hope that writing it proved somewhat cathartic; I’m now more encouraged to follow through with mine.

This is my second comment today. Could someone please tell me why so many Alaskans feel Sarah Palin cleaned up Political Corruption in Alaska?? My research reveals FBI has been doing an investigation since 2004 which was long time before Sarah Palin was elected. Appears she rode wave for change after FBI raid of legislators offices August, 2006 and was elected governor October-November, 2006. FBI alone is/was doing this investigation. FBI is still active in Alaska and they are working under orders from Washington. Alaska Government and Sarah Palin have not done any of this investigation. Alaska Government is actually being investigated. I see where Palin has asked certain indicted politicians to resign only following release of FBI findings and/or indictments. Is it correct 11 Republican politicians, 0 Democratic politicians have been indicted to date??

I wonder how many people are paying attention and realizing that Troopergate is a carbon copy of the scandal involving the firing of the U.S. Attorneys that occurred after the last election. Google David Iglesias and you will see the similarities, ie:
1. Exemplary at-will employees were fired for suspected illegal reasons
2. A legislative body decided an investigation was warranted
3. Subpoenas were issued to witnesses
4. The power behind the dismissals interferred with the investigation
5. The subpoenas were ignored.
6. The Attornery General’s office declined to enforce the subpoenas. It should be noted that both the US Attorney General Michael Mukasey and Alaska Attorney General Talis Colberg were appointed by George Bush and Sarah Palin, respectively.

You can think of George Bush and Sarah Palin as Dr. Evil and Mini-me, respectively.

Our governor has let us down… We so wanted to be able to look ourselves in the mirror again- after all these years of open corruption in Alaska.
Now- we stuck ourselves with a governor who tries to take credit for everything- except maybe her own actions…The federal grand jury which handed down the Veco indictments- in state -was made up of everyday Alaskans . The federal juries which convicted those rats were made up of everyday Alaskans…Those JURORS did more to clear the air here than Ms Palin- who merely rattled the cages of her party’s inner circle. We did have hopes with her though…
Now, it’s obvious she is like all the rest of the rats who would keep us hollering at each other. I didn’t vote for Gov. Palin, but knew she would be voted in because of her ‘rape & pillage’ attitude which include drill, drill, drill, kill, kill, kill anything that gets in her way. Polar Bears outta here and quick; a direct slap to the intelligent scientist that have determined their demise; airplane ‘hunting’ of preditors that get in the way of the money that comes into AK during the caribou & moose killing seasons. Sounds like murder for the sake of murder. Her religious views are archaic, backward and dangerous as she hides under the Protestant umbrella. Obviously her family doesn’t even respect her noting her pregnant highschool daughter and her drop-out boyfriend. In only 20months she has ‘called herself into question’ then quickly eliminated the question. Hubby seems to be enjoying the limelight, as usual, and ignoring a subpoena. Nothing to cover up? Hard to know there’s so much coverup going on. I’m embarrassed to be an Alaskan, proud to be an Obama/Biden supporter.

I’m not a hockey-mom or an Alaskan. I’m just a concerned citizen from the lower 48 who thinks the McCain campaign takeover of Alaska state government is outrageous. You need to get this story out to the rest of the country because it’s only being covered – if at all – by the bloggers. The Palin stonewalling of the “Troopergate” probe is just as abusive as the activities under investigation. The timeline is important, too, because some are saying this is a partisan witchhunt and do not realize that the investigation predates Palin’s bid for VP.

Down here, the right-leaning media portrayed the anti-Palin rally as a bunch of liberal commie hippie tree hugger anti-American malcontents. As you know, any criticism of Palin is branded as sexism and it’s difficult to have any sort of meaningful discussion about her qualifications and character. It’s terrifying to think that the RNC is up in Alaska trying to keep the truth from reaching the rest of us and swiftboating Alaskans who try to speak out. I know you are tougher than that and I pray you get through.

I have been reading the Alaska Daily News since McCain brought Palin onto the ticket. The rest of the country is watching. Don’t let the RNC goons usurp Alaskan state government.

And responding the the post that wondered if we thought all Alaskans are stupid – NO! We know that it’s a big place but a small community. We realize how dangerous it can be to speak out against powerful individuals who wield that power so recklessly and punitively.

Good luck. The rest of us will do what we can but we know some will dismiss us as meddling ‘outsiders’ while at the same time defending the presence of the McCain campain in the governor’s office. Be strong.

After we are done with TrooperGate, the state will have to look at her misuse of taxpayer money. She paid herself per-diem for 300 plus days I believe, while she was living at her house in Wasilla. Past governors always moved to Juneau to be available to conduct government in a timely and efficient manner. It’s interesting that she likened herself to a dog.

McCain allowing his campaign to hi-jack our state is further confirmation of his lack of judgement, justice, equality and knowledge of the Constitution. I liked this observation posted by a medical doctor on another blog:
As a physician and political observer My support for Obama is driven by my fear of McCain.
The campaign needs to point out and repeat over and over again: McCain has a history beginning in high school and continuing through his military and Senate career of temper tantrums, impulsive behavior and quick to anger. He has repeatedly said he is a “Risk Taker.” Is this the temperment we want to see in our President who has his finger on the nuclear trigger ?

Sarah Palin needs to quit traipsing around the country giving speeches to people in the Lower ’48. She is avoiding the big problems she has in her state.

As a mayor of the small rural town of Wasilla, Sarah Palin faced a threatened recall due to her bad management. She would hire her friends and fire anyone who disagreed with her. I can see she has a repeating pattern. As Governor, Sarah Palin is being investigated for her administration’s abuse of power (TrooperGate). This investigation was voted for unanimously by the Senate (eight Republicans and four Democrats). Regardless of your party affiliation, in this election, be informed and do your research. The lipstick is trying to cover up the facts.

This woman changes her stories more often than she changes her outfits.
The scariest part is she seems to believe each new version is the gospel truth.
IMHO she has a serious personality disorder which manifests as compulsive lying.

Unfortunately, her behavior triggers others to attack her for telling lies, which causes her
to become more paranoid and defensive. . . She belongs in a sanitorium, not in government !

J spent my High School years in Alaska, graduating from A.H.S. in 1954.
We lived in Eagle River where my father had homesteaded a parcel.

What a sad state of affairs now, with this Trooper-gate.
Doesn’t sound to me like the man who was fired did anything to deserve it.

Why not investigate everything now, and clear up the mess!?
If there is nothing to hide, then why not?

I am a Republican working mother of 5 and I am so embarrassed by Sarah Palin’s behavior. I would have been very happy if someone like Kay B. Hutchinson had been on the ticket (experience and intelligence)There is no way I would leave my 5 month old DS baby for somebody else to care for. I doubt that Todd is the caregiver because he’s busy following Sarah. Then to have a pregnant teenager who needs a mom more now than ever, it’s shameful. If she’s innocent, there should be no reluctance to cooperate with the investigation. If she’s innocent she should tell the McCain people that she has got to cooperate to protect her integrity. This will be the first time in my voting life that I will be voting Democratic. Obama and his family; Biden and his family represent more of what FAMILY means to me. Not to mention the constant lies from McCain & Palin. And if I hear that Ebay line from Palin again, I’ll scream.

The comment by Jeremy may well be his own thoughts, or he may be part of the “unofficial” McCain campaign that does nothing but surf the web for sites unfriendly to McCain an post derogatory and misleading information. I have encountered active duty military personnel engaged in this activity while at their work stations and other government employees active in this underground effort on behalf of McCain and the GOP. While not all detractors are part of such obviously unscrupulous use of our government resources it should be noted that it does exist. It is what we get when the President’s campaign manager is afforded a full time cabinet position within our government.

Jeremy, I for one do care about candidates. Candidates ACTIONS are more important than what they say, cause you and I know that they are told what to say to win. As far as I know, the Lieutenant governor should assume the responsibliity of governship, that’s how it’s done in Texas, if the governor isn’t able. So, would this happen too, if Palin should be in command if McCain who is 72 should not be able to fulfill his responsibilities, than will these very people (who are they?) be in charge instead of Palin, because they don’t think she can handle it?
Sorry to say, Republicans are in deep trouble, once a party of fiscal conservatives, once a party of Eisenhower and Reagan, but now there is a sinister force that will do anything to win but no knowledge as how to govern. Look at the 8 years and as Reagan once said, are you better off? Is America better off? McCain flip flops, and with every crisis, he says the opposite of what he’s done. He is no maverick, no reformer. Quite frankly, I have no idea why he wants to be President. His pick of Palin shows no insight, no thought as to how America would be governed with such an inexperienced candidate, the very thing he criticizes. So his actions speak more.

Brandon, Troopergate is just the tip of the iceberg! We’re concerned that Palin abused her power in office and isn’t being held accountable. The implications are serious.

What is most important here, is that McSame-Palin are running on a platform of “reform” while actively obstructing justice. It’s an example of how they will Govern if elected. Just as we saw this week, McCain’s role in Keating 5 – the kind of Corporate sponsored Governement deregulation that lead to the financial disaster and Government bailout last week – and then turning around and blaming Wall street. This investigation needs to happen, and it MUST happen before the election. Americans need to know the truth BEFORE they enter the polls, not after. We have to start somewhere, and turning our backs on this and allowing the Republicans to taint-and-spin this investigation will pave the way for more of the same. Thanks for your comments.

The Troopergate allegation is troublesome and needs to be settled long before November 4th. Palin is essentially applying for the 2nd highest job in our government and the voters have a right to all information to help in decision-making.

Why is it that we law abiding, tax paying citizens are required to cooperate with authorities but government officials are given a pass? It just isn’t fair.
